Raised along Australia’s coastline, Lily developed an early love for exploration and the outdoors, driven by a curiosity about the world and the possibilities it held. While naturally adventurous as a child, her senior years of schooling were marked by increasing anxiety, self-doubt, and uncertainty about her future - a struggle she now recognises as common among young people navigating pressure to define themselves too early.

A defining turning point came during her final year of school, when Lily began searching for careers that would allow her to travel and challenge herself. Late one evening, she discovered the role of Crew Attendant within the Australian Defence Force. Recognising both the opportunity and the challenge, she applied the following day - a decision that would reshape her sense of identity, discipline, and self-belief.
After graduating high school in November 2021, Lily enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force at just 17 years old, commencing basic training in March 2022. Entering one of Australia’s most demanding and competitive institutions, she underwent significant physical and mental transformation. Once someone who did not consider herself athletic, Lily committed to her wellbeing, progressing from being unable to run a kilometre to completing half marathons.

Now four years into her service, Lily has travelled to 16 countries, participated in multiple missions, and worked closely with Australian government officials. Her Defence Force career has shaped her understanding of leadership, accountability, and resilience, while reinforcing the importance of service and adaptability in high-pressure environments.
Lily’s Miss World Australia journey reflects this same growth. Although she had long aspired to participate, she initially lacked the confidence to pursue it. Encouraged by a senior officer, she formally sought and received approval from the Australian Defence Force - a milestone that underscored both her personal development and the evolving recognition of diverse leadership pathways within traditionally male-dominated sectors.

Her Beauty With A Purpose initiative focuses on confidence education, youth empowerment, and redefining strength for young women. Drawing from her own experiences, Lily works with students to challenge the pressure of having life “figured out” at a young age, promoting self-trust, resilience, and patience. She is particularly passionate about empowering women to break stereotypes, demonstrating that ambition and femininity can coexist - and that authenticity is a strength, not a limitation.

As Miss World Queensland, Lily Cooper represents a new generation of leadership - one that blends service, self-belief, and advocacy. Through her platform, she aims to inspire young people to step beyond fear, trust their capability, and pursue paths that may feel uncomfortable, but transformative.
