Vietjet Carries Australia to Miss World’s Historic 75th Anniversary in Vietnam

As 111 nations descended on Vietnam for the 75th anniversary of Miss World, Vietjet was behind Australia's journey to the global stage, partnering with Miss World Australia for the landmark 2026 event.

Vietjet partnered with Miss World Australia as Airline Partner, flying reigning Miss World Australia Olivija Spanovskis, National Director Alex Keepence and members of the Australian delegation between Melbourne and Vietnam for the month-long international festival.

The partnership connected the Australian organisation with one of Vietnam's fastest-growing airlines at a significant moment for both brands, as Miss World celebrated 75 years and Vietjet continued to strengthen its presence in the Australian market.

From August 8 to September 5, Spanovskis represented Australia alongside women from 110 other nations as the Miss World program travelled across Vietnam, showcasing the country's culture, heritage and tourism to an international audience.

The month incorporated humanitarian initiatives, cultural events, media, fashion and sporting challenges, with Australia claiming an international podium finish when Spanovskis secured bronze in the Miss World Sports Challenge.

It culminated on September 5 with a spectacular beachfront Grand Final in Nha Trang.

Despite torrential rain, approximately 20,000 spectators gathered for the outdoor finale, while the anniversary edition was projected to reach a global audience of up to two billion across broadcast and digital platforms.

Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic was ultimately crowned the 73rd Miss World, bringing the month-long celebration in Vietnam to a close.

For Miss World Australia, having Vietjet behind the Australian delegation was particularly fitting.

“Vietjet didn't simply fly our team to Vietnam. They helped connect Australia to one of the biggest moments in Miss World's history,” National Director Alex Keepence said.

“With 111 countries coming together for the 75th anniversary, this was an extraordinary opportunity to represent Australia on a global stage. Vietjet already plays an important role in connecting Australia and Vietnam, so there was a really natural synergy between our organisations.”

A partnership with its sights on the future

The collaboration comes as Vietjet continues to grow its Australian footprint.

The airline currently connects Ho Chi Minh City directly with Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, strengthening tourism and travel links between Australia and Vietnam.

Vietjet has also taken regulatory steps towards potentially establishing domestic operations in Australia, signalling broader ambitions for the Australian aviation market.

For Miss World Australia, that makes the timing of the partnership particularly exciting.

“We would love for Vietnam to be the first chapter of a much bigger relationship with Vietjet,” Keepence said.

“Miss World Australia takes women from communities across the country and ultimately onto an international stage, so travel is intrinsically connected to what we do.

“There is enormous alignment between our organisations through travel, tourism, culture and connecting Australia with the world. As Vietjet's story in Australia continues to grow, we would be incredibly proud to continue growing this partnership alongside them.”

The international campaign also became a showcase of Australian creative collaboration.

South Australian designer Tasmin Jade and artist Mary Zammit contributed to Spanovskis' wardrobe, while Jordan Lavis, Louise and Harry Vick helped capture the Australian campaign. Mentor Kym and Spanovskis' family were also among those supporting her journey.

“It was beautiful to see so many people come together behind one Australian representative,” Keepence said.

“International representation is never the work of one person.

From our designers and creatives to Olivija's family, mentors and partners, there was an entire team behind Australia in Vietnam. Vietjet was an important part of making that journey possible.”

Now back on Australian soil, Miss World Australia is preparing to launch its next national season, while Spanovskis will transition into a mentorship role for the next generation of participants.

The organisation's next national winner is expected to represent Australia at Miss World in Tanzania in September 2027.

For Spanovskis and the Australian delegation, Vietjet's flights home closed an extraordinary month in Vietnam.

For Vietjet and Miss World Australia, they may have marked the beginning of a much longer journey together.
